Bicycle paths
Paris has finally got around to creating bicycle lanes to make life a little easier for the city's two wheelers. At the moment there are around 50 km of bicycle lanes, but this should soon be increased. When that is done perhaps the city might get round to prosecuting motorist who park on them or drive on them.
Pedestrians and cyclists are advised to pay more attention to cars than to trafic lights. The French drive using a method called "système D"; which might roughly be translated as "every man for himself". Paris is only slowly catching up with other major cities concerning bicycle lanes. There are a few in place, but it is not unlikely to find a car parked on them or a motorbike using them to overtake. Don't be too surprised if it is a police motorbike; système D remember!
